Empowering Families Through Financial Literacy

Empowering Your Financial Future

At River Valley Charities, we recognize that financial instability is a significant barrier to family well-being. Many families in our community face challenges such as living paycheck to paycheck, lacking emergency savings, and carrying high levels of debt. These financial strains often lead to food insecurity and limited access to essential resources. Our Financial Literacy Program is designed to address these issues by providing families with the tools and knowledge to achieve financial stability and independence.

Why Financial Literacy Matters
  • Widespread Financial Insecurity: Approximately 65% of U.S. consumers live paycheck to paycheck, indicating a widespread struggle to cover basic expenses without financial strain. (acainternational.org)
  • Lack of Emergency Savings: Nearly 37% of Americans don't have $400 in liquid savings, leaving them vulnerable to unexpected expenses. (blackrock.com)
  • Financial Literacy Gap: The average American scores just 46% on a basic quiz about financial literacy, highlighting a critical gap in understanding essential money management skills. (nationalsavings.com)
