Executive Director

Part-time, Salaried Position  |  Serving Hudson, Wisconsin and surrounding communities

About Us

River Valley Charities, Inc. (RVC) is a Hudson, Wisconsin-based non-profit working to end food insecurity in western Wisconsin. Rather than operating direct services ourselves, RVC raises funds and builds partnerships that strengthen the school- and community-based organizations already doing that work on the ground. Since our founding, we've supported these partners through grants, event fundraising, and hands-on collaboration — helping them reach more families and expand what they can offer.

The Opportunity

RVC is seeking a part-time Executive Director to lead our fundraising strategy, event planning, and partner relationships. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role for someone who wants to see the direct impact of their work in the community where they live. The Executive Director will be the primary face of RVC to donors, partner organizations, and the broader community, and will work closely with the Board of Directors to set and execute the organization's fundraising priorities.

This role reports to the RVC Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising & Development Design and execute an annual fundraising strategy across individual donors, corporate sponsors, grants, and community campaigns. Cultivate and steward relationships with existing donors while identifying and pursuing new funding sources.
  • Event Planning Plan and execute RVC's fundraising and awareness events from concept through post-event follow-up, including logistics, sponsorships, volunteer coordination, and budget management.
  • Partner & Stakeholder Collaboration Serve as RVC's primary liaison to the school and community-based organizations we support, understanding their needs and ensuring RVC's fundraising priorities align with real gaps in food access across the region. Represent RVC with local businesses, civic groups, and other community stakeholders.
  • Organizational Leadership Work with the Board of Directors to set annual goals and budget priorities. Track and report on fundraising results and program impact. Maintain RVC's public presence, including website and social media content related to campaigns and events.

Who We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or event planning
  • A genuine commitment to addressing food insecurity and strengthening the western Wisconsin community
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with comfort representing an organization to donors, partners, and the public
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a part-time, flexible-schedule role
  • Experience working with or reporting to a volunteer Board of Directors is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Hudson/western Wisconsin community and its non-profit landscape is a plus

Compensation & Schedule

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
